The Data Signs Products VMS, VSLS, (PTL's optionally) are fitted with Communications Modules and a GPS Tracker.
Fit a SIM card to a Data Signs Product to enable these features and to remotely program messages onto the Sign, track the Sign's location, and much more using our web-based program: DS-Live™
There are three options:
Option 1. Data Signs organises the SIM cards on your behalf with Telstra, and installs them in the Signs. A service fee applies. You need to fill out some paperwork for this option.
Option 2. Organise the SIM card yourself and post to Data Signs to install. A service fee applies. You will need to go to your service provider, fill out the relevant documentation and instruct them on how to correctly setup the SIM card for M2M use.
Option 3. Organise and fit the SIM card to the Sign yourself. You will need to go to your service provider, fill out the relevant documentation and instruct them on how to correctly set up the SIM card for M2M use. If further support from Data Signs is required, costs will be applicable.
Please see details for each option below.
Option 1: Data Signs organises the SIM cards on your behalf with Telstra, and fits to the Signs. Service Fee applies.
If you currently use Telstra as your SIM card provider, you can fill out the forms below to allow Data Signs to activate the SIM cards and fit to the Signs while they are being made. This a ‘turn-key’ solution; start using your Data Signs Product the moment they arrive! To make use of this service, you will need to complete the below forms following the instructions. Please do this as soon as possible so Data Signs has time to fit the SIM card to the Sign before shipping.
Step 1. Prepare and complete the documentation outlined below
a) M2M - Application Form
Fill in the details in Section 1, 2 & 3. Then just sign and date it in Section 8.
b) Copy of an Authorisation Letter on original company letterhead or Purchase Order signed by the company representative.
c) 100 points of Identification (Drivers Licence plus Electricity, Gas, Water or Council rates bill)
Step 2. Email the form and documentation to Data Signs at email: SIM@datasigns.com.au.
Step 3. Data Signs will be in contact with you at this point.
Option 2: Organise the SIM card yourself and post to Data Signs to install into the sign. DS-Live™ Subscription fee applies.
Step 1. Go to your Telco provider. For best coverage and reliable communications to your sign, Data Signs recommends Telstra.
Step 2. Setup the SIM card according to the instructions below with your Telecommunications Provider.
Step 3. Ensure the SIM PIN is removed from each SIM card. (Ensure that SMS is not barred - this is often forgotten).
Step 4. Post the SIM cards to relevant Data Signs Branch, and include paperwork stating the Mobile Number for each SIM card.
Please organise and post the SIM cards as quickly as possible to give Data Signs sufficient time to fit them before products are shipped so you can start using your Data Signs Product the moment they arrive! Note, Data Signs will ship the product without the SIM card if it is not provided in time.
Option 3: Organising the SIM card yourself. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OPTION.
If further supports from Data Signs is required, costs will be applicable.
Step 1. Organise your own SIM card. Do not use pre-paid SIM cards.
Step 2. Purchase DS-Live™ Subscription from Data Signs.
Step 3. Setup Instructions: The SIM card needs to be setup in the following way, by your Telecommunications Provider.
Step 4. Fitting SIM card to Sign: If you have organised the SIM card yourself, Data Signs has published a YouTube video that demonstrates the process to follow to fit the SIM card to your Sign:
